Chapter Two — September 2024

When the Mountain Fell

Hurricane Helene tore through western North Carolina. At Tom's mountain home near Boone — at 3,284 feet — more than thirty trees fell on his property. By grace, none hit his home.

"The trees were just whipping like crazy. I'd never seen anything like it."— Tom Ullman

Tom became the chainsaw guy — cutting through wreckage while neighbors cleared limbs behind him.

But watching the devastation, he couldn't shake the feeling that these fallen trees still had something to give. Something beautiful. Something hopeful.

Chapter Three — The Mission

From Fallen Trees,
Symbols of Hope

Each cross is hand-cut from the very trees Hurricane Helene brought down, sanded smooth, finished with care, and accompanied by a card showing the tree it came from.

"If I can get legs on it or wings, I might be able to make a real difference."— Tom Ullman

A portion of every purchase supports Samaritan's Purse rebuilding High Country communities devastated by Hurricane Helene.
